Soft switching also reduces stress on the power transistors, and a built-in full-range frequency jittering circuit reduces switching losses and improves electromagnetic interference.
The DK3715AD features an asymmetric half-bridge (AHB) control circuit and a 600V half-bridge driver circuit, and incorporates two 700V voltage-resistant enhancement-mode GaN power ICs. It is the industry’s only fully integrated, all-in-one GaN asymmetric half-bridge IC.

Soft switching also reduces stress on the power transistors, minimizing switching losses and improving electromagnetic interference.

The DK8715AD supports a maximum switching frequency of 800kHz, boasts less than 50mW of standby power consumption, features adaptive dead time, and is extremely compact. It is halogen-free, compliant with ROHS requirements, and includes built-in high-voltage startup and X-capacitor discharge circuits, providing enhanced system performance and reliability.

The Infineon XDPSS2201 is a digital hybrid flyback controller with an integrated 600V high-voltage startup circuit and high- and low-side MOS drivers. The XDPSS2201 can be used with the company’s IGI60F1414A1L half-bridge GaN chip, providing customers with a highly integrated, efficient, high-performance, and low-temperature GaN fast-charging solution.

The XDPSS2201 utilizes peak current mode control for fast load response. It automatically switches to burst mode based on output current levels, supports primary-side overvoltage protection, and maintains standby power consumption below 75mW. Parameters are configurable via a single-pin UART interface. Housed in a PG-DSO-14 package, it minimizes external components.

Infineon’s next-generation adaptive PFC + soft-switching HFB two-in-one controller, the XDPS2221, combines a PFC controller with the powerful HFB features of the XDPS2201 controller, helping power supply manufacturers create simpler, more efficient, and compact power supply designs.

The Infineon XDPS2221 supports PD 3.1’s wide input voltage range of 90-264Vac (47Hz/64Hz), expanding its application range. It offers a 5V-28V 5A output with an output power of 140W. Its conversion efficiency exceeds 95% at 230V and 93.5% at 115V, meeting energy efficiency requirements and facilitating the development of green PD power adapters.

The XDPS2221 controller chip in this hybrid flyback-based 140W USB-PD 3.1 demo board integrates the PFC and HFB controllers. The primary-side power devices utilize three IGLD60R190D1 (190M ohm/8x8GaN) CoolGaN devices: one for the PFC GaN switch and two for the HFB GaN switches. The secondary-side utilizes the ICQ800NLS (100V/3.3mR) SR GaN switch and the CYPD3175 USB-PD power supply IC. This results in a PCB design footprint of just 109.5×28.5x24mm³, achieving a power density of 22.67W/in³ or 38W/cc. This design significantly improves performance while saving board space, making it suitable for a variety of low-power PD adapter applications.
