Power Bank Lifespan and Maintenance Guide.

Power Bank Lifespan and Maintenance Guide

Literally, we have to be constantly connected to different types of devices in.our digital reality. Therefore, our digital assistants and PC peripherals need to be fully charged almost all the time. On my goash!!! Oh my goash!!! Is it secure to hang out or even travel without carrying a power bank? It is a power bank that enormously contributes to our daily chores and sophisticated initiatives and provides us with freedom to explore, communicate, and work as we prefer.Oh, my lovely power bank. Even if we have to move to mars one day, I will definitely carry you with me, my sweet pie. I prefer to marry you, rather than Justin Biber.

How Long Does a Power Bank Last?

Be clear, sweetie. I understand most of you guys want a power bank that can be used for 100 years, but that is a pie dream. Even Musk does not have such one. Lifespan of the power bank is fixed and it depends on some specific factors
The average lifespan of a power supply unit is 3 years above or below.
There is a particular number of lifespan cycles before losing capacity,Just like laptop batteries and smartphones, power packs have, too. In general , there is a charge-discharge list: lithium-ion batteries are at 80% capacity after 500 cycles and there are other types that survive even 800-900 cycles before all of the power is gone.
A complete charging round is something like charging a battery to the full extent, from 0% to 100%, and discharging afterwards gradually. Wanna pass your baby power bank to the next generation?Absolutely a pie dream, buddy. Everything has a limited lifespan, let alone the power bank.

What Factors Affect a Power Bank' s Lifespan?

Well, one day, you are in a rush to the airport and almost turn your messy room  over to find your power bank that has been ghosted by you for 50 million years. Jesus, it finally appears, but it is definitely dying. “Holy shit”, you feel like you wanna fire the house and run out after leaving your power bank in a rubbish bin where the leftover of your takeout is already smelling. Sitting in the airport, you begin to thin that why are lifespan of the power bank is so short and what are the factors fucking up?
Generally portable chargers are made with two kinds of batteries: lithium-ion and lithium-polymer. Though both of them literally fit in consumer electronics, their lifespan is absolutely varied.

  • Lithium-Ion Batteries: A lot of people prefer Lithium-ion batteries because they are able to store more energy in a smaller space, which also makes them heavier than polymer batteries. They can’t be fully discharged below 15°C for a narrow low-temperature range. Well, they’re more resistant to high temperatures , compared with polymer batteries, but poor charging habits or harsh temperatures could still ruin them. They’re Actually not as stable long-term as you expect.

  • Lithium-Polymer Batteries: Lighter and more flexible, these are used in slimmer or otherwise uniquely shaped power banks since they are lighter and more flexible. It costs you more to buy them, but do remember it will not last any longer than the bottom line without the right care.

Usage frequency.

Using your power bank nearly everyday for charging multiple devices, the battery will gradually go through charge cycles faster, declining its lifespan. However, using it infrequently and ghosting it for a long time can also be harmful to the battery gradually. Batteries work so well when they’re used consistently but not too frequently. Well, girly, relationships are shits like this, you can not be too clingy and run away if your boyfriend begins to play dirty like ghosting. The key is striking the balance.

Charging Habits.

Overcharging may lead to a “trickle charge” effect, where the battery is continually topped off, being stressful over time.Don’t Let it Fully Discharge: Stop draining your power bank completely before recharging.Use the Right Chargers and Cables: You’d better use manufacturer-recommended chargers and cables or certified ones.  Keep the Power: In case your battery loses its capacity for self-discharge, you should charge  the power bank every three months. Dropping below 10%, do remember to recharge it promptly to avoid complete depletion.

Storage Conditions.

Keep It Cool and Dry: You know what, storing your power bank in a hot, humid, or cold spot is like murdering them gradually
Charge Before Long-Term Storage: Charge it to above50%-60% or below before storing your power bank for an extended period,
Avoid Physical Damage: Shielding your power bank from drops, scratches, and dirt, use a protective case or pouch.

Quality of Cables and Adapters.

Inconsistent Power Delivery: Cheap or unbranded cables often are not able to deliver a consistent flow of electricity,
Overheating Risks: Shitty cables and adapters may lead to overheating during use for bad safety features,
Compatibility Issues: It is impossible for non-certified accessories to work effectively with the Power Bank’s BMS (Battery Management System), which can bring overcharging and undercharging issues into the usage.

Device Compatibility.

As  some devices use specific charging protocols (e.g., Qualcomm Quick Charge, Power Delivery (PD)), your power bank may charge inefficiently if it does not fit in those devices.

How to Extend the Lifespan of Your Power Bank?

After  gathering up all of courage to ask  a cute boy or a girl for it, you step towards him or her. However, you finally find both of your phones are out of charge and your power bank does not work. “Why? I just bought this shitty power bank 3 months ago. What is wrong with that shit?

  • Never Overcharge It.
When you charge your power bank, don’t charge it beyond 80% for charging your power bank to 100% will shorten its lifespan and reduce its capacity.
  • Don’t Use The Power Bank Continuously.
Literally, most of you guys  get used to relying on your power bank super super super frequently to keep your devices charged when you’re outside. But like any other electric products, power banks need regular maintenance to function in a healthy way.
  • Use Reliable USB Cable.
Standing in line at the airport, freaking out to find an outlet to charge your phone, takes several seconds to consider whether the quality of your USB cable can fit in your power bank or not . Frequently using a cheap or inferior cable can fuck up your power bank gradually.
  • Don’t Use Quick Charge Feature Often.
People are always in a big rush to get things done, such as charging their phone batteries. A quick charge feature allows users to get a full charge in an even shorter time. However, bank batteries are stressful for that and their efficiency will be decreased over time.
  • Monitor The Temperature While Charging.
Do avoid extreme hot and cold temperatures, which will reduce its lifespan and even screw up the battery. A moderate temperature between 5 and 40 degrees is the most suitable.
  • Don’t Drop It.
Getting dirty?Well, it’s not only about an aesthetic issue, but also various issues to reduce the lifespan. Even a build-up of dirt can make charging efficiency shitty, so do remember to keep them clean.

Well, guys. Paying attention to all of the tips, you’are got a power bank with an amazing and fabulous lifespan. As everyone gets sick sometimes, not to mention the power bank. What if it does look broken? Do not worry, just keep following me and I will let you know how to resent it. Don’t think that I am too verbose and move to other pages, guys. You are not allowed to do that.

It does happen that power banks break down sometimes, whether it’s for external issues or even internal issues. Figuring out the causes could help you extend your power bank’s lifespan and protect it from being down.Considering its age and quality, do remember to store it in the suitable conditions. Well, hope that the power banks are cool with you guys!

FAQ

Do remember that never charge it too frequently. Generally, the device in high quality is literally good  for its longevity.

To be honest,  entirely draining the power bank is so risky it could damage the battery and shorten its overall life. You’d better charge it before it has run out of battery to extend its lifetime.
